What Is A Renaissance Woman?

 

A Renaissance Woman is a woman (as opposed to a Renaissance Man) who has broad intellectual interests and that is definitely me! I am interested in all sorts of fields from business and marketing to writing and education. I love trivia and quotes too! So this lens is all about ME -- Deanna Mascle Renaissance Woman!

 

Polyhistor, Polymath, Homo Universalis, or Renaissance Woman? 

To say I am conflicted is stating it mildly. I have long thought of myself as a Renaissance Woman with many talents and a wide pool of knowledge. Some of it trivial I must admit (I am the QuizQueen) but some of it very serious as well.

However now I find that there are actually many different titles that apply to me and I'm at a loss to determine just which is the best to apply. Perhaps you can help me decide after you learn more about just what being a polyhistor means!

Why I Am A Renaissance Woman 

Not only am I as curious as a cat, a lifelong learner and avid reader, my professional life has also dictated that I develop a wide range of expertise. I have spent my entire professional career working as a writer and a teacher -- and well understand that the two fields overlap a great deal!

Who Is The Renaissance Woman? 

Deanna Mascle My name is Deanna Mascle. I grew up in a small town in Upstate New York (Williamson) and have earned degrees from SUNY Plattsburgh, the University of Bridgeport, and Eastern Kentucky University. I am currently working on my PhD from Texas Tech. My career has included serving as a newspaper reporter and editor, magazine writer and editor, published author, web site designer and content creator, e-zine publisher, freelance writer, GED instructor and college professor. Today I live in Kentucky with my husband and son. I teach writing at Morehead State University and am an Infopreneur.

I have come to terms with my Squidoo addiction at Squidooholic by taking the Squidoo Pledge! But being a Squidooholic can't be all bad as it helped me become a Giant Squid on May 2!
