For Ryan to stick out, he not only has to build tons of muscle, but also keep his bodyfat in check. The stars who make the most impact in movies maintain a lean muscular look with around or below 10 percent bodyfat.
Now, according to Ryan, staying thin is easy, putting on the muscle is hard.
But as we all know, with the right diet, right workout program and right lifestyle, that "hollywood body" can be achieved.

Ryan Reynolds Workout
Ryan is working out 2-3 hours a day, 6 days a week and using a body-part split like he's done before. He's doing a multitude of exercises including some of the bigger lifts to put on mass.
Day 1: Legs
Day 2: Shoulders
Day 3: Chest
Day 4: Back
Day 5: Legs
Day 6: Shoulders
Day 7: Rest
Rinse and repeat...
Obviously what he did worked for him, so saying it's wrong isn't appropriate. But working out for 2-3 hours a day 6 days a week is going to be hard on anyone's body, and a more efficient solution might be checking out more intense shorter workouts like those recommended on this page.
Just remember, health is synergy. If you want a "hollywood body" you can have it. But it requires that you workout, eat healthy (unhealthy from time to time), sleep enough, and manage your stress.

Up until workouts he eats plenty of small meals full of protein and carbs and a little fat, then in the afternoons he tapers the carbohydrates off and focuses in on protein. He has to watch calories to make sure he's getting enough to put on some muscle, but also has to pay attention to his body and meals to make sure he's not putting on fat.
This tends to be a very common diet among the stars; it allows them to kill cravings and build muscle around workouts and really crank in that fat burning in the afternoon.
