I monitor emergent communication and information technologies and interactive social medias to forecast strategic opportunities, and engage networks to form brand communities.
Embedded within these online communities and virtual environments, I form meaningful relationships with key influencers using indigenous social media tools for collaboration.
Seeding ideas and encouraging co-creation within networks of brand advocates has proven an effective method for crowd-sourcing innovation. I create interactive opportunities for participatory new product development and collaborative brainstorming that encourage customers to build, and in so doing [re]define, the brand experience. The by-product of this non-invasive form of engagement is an expanding network of product hackers, and self-proclaimed customer evangelists.
Quotations:
"Every example of remarkable customer service and interactivity that is open to search engine traffic becomes a footprint in the history of one's brand identity. Weave inspiring narratives throughout the net that will compel future customers to fall in love with your own unique customer experience" - How To Become A Word Of Mouth Evangelist - An Interview with Andy Sernovitz
"Embedded within vocal communities, I have found that using the emergent tools of the environment to spark discussion through collaborative new product development (otherwise known as "hacking") generates a great deal of positive feedback. The result is a spike in consumer generated marketing, and a steady stream of collaborative ideation that gives consumers a voice in the direction of 'their' company." An Interview With An Innovator Stephen Smith of HDBizBlog
"The risk of requesting feedback in an uncontrolled public setting is often the leading inhibitor for companies to join in the discussion. However, the loyalties made now will become the backbone of your future brand image as participatory consumerism and social medias topple traditional models of business-centric customer relations. It is not enough to simply listen." [1] AoC
" [...] the most important thing to remember is that [engaging this pool of creative talent] should be done soon. An approach to understanding the customer's perspective by immersing oneself within said community, using the same tools for communication and collaboration, results in nothing less than a new form of business intelligence."[2] AoC
"I'm here to listen, learn, and participate in discussions about organization and creativity"[3] AoC
Social medias provide the opportunity for companies to really learn how customers feel about their brand through open conversation." The Age of Conversation: An Interview with Rasmussen [1] [2] Duc Ly
