He met Saddam 22 days prior to his capture. The purpose was to review with Saddam and three members of his staff how he was going to get them and 1200 of their elite troops out of Iraq. He would have them transported and settled safely in Somalia for a meager 1 billion dollars. Saddam and his cabinet had no idea he was a triple agent. The plan was never concluded as he told his country the United States where he had Saddam hiding. What you never heard was that Saddam's family, other members of his staff and 1200 of his troops were already moved by U.S. intelligence to Turkey and ready to leave in 21 days for Somalia. The flights would be subverted to Egypt as planned where American troops were waiting. These family members, staff and forces are still imprisoned on Egyptian soil unknown to the world. His name is Guy Chesterfield and he is retired from the Special Activities Unit of the Central Intelligence Agency. He has never used his birth name after age 33. No one currently living knows Guy's real name and true background. At one time two people knew it but both have passed and his name with them. A couple of the Presidents thought Clark Kellogg (an alias of his) was his birth name but like Guy said you can't trust anyone when it involves life or death. This is Guy Chesterfield's story as he eventually became the first non-military triple agent in U.S. history and the man that set up Saddam in the rumple of Iraq.
Guy had hundreds of missions over the years but setting up Saddam for capture was by far his most rewarding. The mission had two labels; the U.S. called it Operation "Devil to Hell" and the Iraqis called it Operation "Let's make a deal". Iraq thought Chesterfield was a double agent gone to their side for $300 million. The reigning Somalians would get the remaining $700,000 million. Believe it or not the U.S. let Guy keep the $300 million but we will get to that part of the story later.

The plan Guy had laid out for Saddam was one of perfection and very easy to believe for a man with an ego like Saddam's. Chesterfield knew that Saddam had managed to move at least $50 billion over the last ten years into several of Madagascar's banks. Saddam was always thinking that sometime he may be over thrown by one of his cabinet members or military generals. He wanted to be set for any potential exile.Having this knowledge and a very good relationship with many of the Somalia warlords Guy Chesterfield was able to put a verified long term plan together for Saddam. He would get him and the now Turkey based personnel to Merca, Somalia. Guy had use of U.S military cargo planes with the supposed purpose of removing exiled Kurd's back to safety. They would arrive at night and be transported about 45 miles to Merca. This city was bought with the $700 million as the reigning warlords agreed to move out the night the forces arrived.
The warlords had all ready cleared the city and upon the groups arrival they would be the only people living in this beach town.
Saddam would already run one city in Somalia the first day he landed. Well this is what Guy was selling to him. He was buying it as he had a hundred questions. Chesterfield's suggestions to Saddam were to lay low for 2 years as his now converted troops to Somalian bad guys took over the surrounding areas. These were not Iraqis to outsiders but just another faction of Somalian's gone bad. Guy told Saddam that during this period he should start quietly building his new Army unknown to the world. Purchase the weapons and equipment he needs to take over the country and buy out any large groups that he could come to agreement with. Guy would be able to introduce him to many of the leaders once things quieted down. When this was done then the take over of Somalia would probably only take about a year.
Somalia had no national army and the biggest force they would face would be about 1800 men. With the right equipment this group could be run out in a few days.
Guy told Saddam that he would have a new country in about 3 years. Chesterfield asked what are you going to call it? Saddam just laughed and said thank you, thank you, thank you. He had bought the entire plan.
Chesterfield told Saddam where he would pick him up along with the exact time and date. This is the last time Chesterfield talked to Saddam as he told him it was imperative that we have no more communication as Guy was also watched as a member of the Special Activities Unit. They departed and Guy said see you in 22 days. Saddam would never see him again but would be captured on the day and the place that Guy Chesterfield set up.
This is a summary of Guy Chesterfield's book being published on December 1, 2009 and shortly thereafter distributed. The book reveals his full life story and many of the most important missions he ran. Full detail of the missions are disclosed (some of the names changed of course). Come back here December 1st to find out how and where you can buy it.
