Saddam Hussein

This lens is a reminder about who Saddam Husssein is and what he has done. The world seems to have a short memory when it comes to the Iraq war and it is so easy to demonize one side or another but let's not forget what happened. The world is a better place without this tyrant. Regardless of how people view the current war in Iraq, and the on going internal struggles, let the blame be placed on the doorstep of Saddam.

GREAT book that details the inside story of the capture, trial, and execution of Saddam -- fascinating reading .. Enemy of the State:The Trial and Execution of Saddam Hussein. Full of interesting behind the scenes details from people who were there and report on what the media never told the world. website is at http://www.enemyofthestatebook.com -- check it out, this is a really good read

The US was correct to go to Iraq, this man was pure evil and needed to be removed. As for Weapons of Mass destruction there were weapons found and many other locations where it was obvious that weapons had been but were removed. Read the link above about Kamel and you will see why and when many of them were moved. Saddam was evil not stupid. He knew it was only a matter of time before forces moved against him. I mean the U.N and the US both told him repeatedly 'cooperate by such and such a date or we are moving in'.
Excellent lens, well put together, excellent links, 5 star, favorite and lensrolled

It is important that we don't forget these horrific crimes. It is so disappointing that the US has let itself be tarnished by the activities at Abu Ghraib and Gunatanamo.

Who has forgotten who Saddam is, who is supporting him? I've never heard anyone say that the world is not a better place without Saddam. Quite the contrary: No matter if you supported the war or not!

Human Rights Watch isn't defending Saddam, as you assert. They're defending the right to a fair trial, as guaranteed by the US Constitution and the Geneva Conventions, which were signed and ratified by the US.

Jack,
I will never forget. Thanks for reminding those that have. Anyone who can't see that the world without him is a better place, has a problem with reality.I love the people that think we can have a conversation with dictators whose only goal is to destroy the US.Thanks for a lens on this topic.
