First lets talk about selection of music. If you are from San Antonio then you know by now that you will have to have a good selection of Tejano and Country music.

Not to say that you must exclude other types of music but the majority of the time if you live in San Antonio Texas or surrounding areas this is something to consider.

So yes you need to start building a library of music. Second have some of the popular group songs such as the boot scoot boogie, electric slide(either Marsha griffin or grandmaster slice) ect. You get the point. Its always good to get people involved and a good way to get people dancing.

Now lets talk about CDs and MP3s.

Now I'm old school but I personally prefer CDs when I do gigs. (parties) Even though I may have many CDs its easy to scan your selections and pull the cd out on the fly. The disadvantage is that you carry a lot of crates when you go out on the jobs.

The good old mp3. So whats so good about them? Well they for one make the job easier since you don't have to carry the inventory on jobs. You can place most if not all your songs on the computer. The only cons and from experience is that if your computer decides to crash its hard to recover from it especially live. So if you go the mp3 computer route make sure you got a cd player to transfer your way out just incase.
