- I wish more people in large cities would do defensive driving. Way, way too many people speeding and trying to get to where they can quicker by passing closely and not looking out for pedestrians. :(

- Great tips for all new drivers and older drivers! Great additions @bdb236. New drivers should also know how to inspect a tire, check tire pressure and change a tire. My husband just purchased KMC Wheels for our sons car.

- Get lens. I do agree that people buy the safests cars around and the talk on their mobiles... it doesn't make sense. They also believe that as they now have all the fancy gizmos in their car that they are invincible and drive recklessly.

- Driving Safety!
* Avoid driving alone or at night.
* Keep all car doors locked and windows closed while in or out of your car. Set your alarm or use an anti-theft device.
* If you must shop at night, park in a well-lighted area.
* Avoid parking next to vans, trucks with camper shells, or cars with tinted windows.
* Park as close as you can to your destination and take notice of where you parked.
* Never leave your car unoccupied with the motor running or with children inside.
* Do not leave packages or valuables on the seat of your car. This creates a temptation for thieves. If you must leave something in the car, lock it in the trunk or put it out of sight.
* Be sure to locate your keys prior to going to your car.
* Keep a secure hold on your purse, handbag and parcels. Do not put them down or on top of the car in order to open the door.
* When approaching and leaving your vehicle be aware of your surroundings.
* Do not approach your car alone if there are suspicious people in the area.
*Ask mall or store security for an escort before leaving your shopping location

- This lens should be required reading for all new drivers here in New Jersey. I love to drive so it doesn't get to me at all, I just sit back and cruise. Thanks for the great lens.

- I love driving too, when I am the only car on the road. Of course, that almost never happens, so in actuality, I HATE driving! I don't understand why people are so impatient on the road. I mean, does it really matter if you get ther 2 minutes earlier? 5 stars

- I've been in two accidents that had totally nothing to do with my driving skills. It's very distressing. I hate driving on the highway because of all the erratic drivers.

- I liked the ideas that you have here. It is so true that people are fixed on the idea of buying a 'safe' car and then take no care at all in how they are driving. Such cars give a false sense of security. My husband was involved in a bad accident recently - all he was doing was sitting stationery at a junction so there was nothing he could do.

- I once got a $250 ticket and it was not my fault It was an intrapment and I faught it and won, hands down...I wrote the Judge and explained things, actually suggested to me by the Highway Patrolman that came to my house to give me the ticket...what a welcome to my new home of only one week...this was my only ticket and I have been driving for 46 years...interesting lens...5*s

- Is it moral to fight a speeding ticket? I would argue that it is neither. I couldn't say that a person trying to fight a speeding ticket is any less moral than the person that does not. If we assume that both are guilty, would both be immoral for breaking the law?
For many a lesson is learned when they are stopped for violating a traffic offense and given a traffic ticket. However, there are just as many drivers out there that may never learn their lesson.
I have won a traffic ticket dispute by default, meaning the officer did not show up. And the case was dismissed. I was guilty, I tried to rationalize my actions, but the truth is I was guilty. I fought it, and I won.
The money was returned to me%u2026.took 6 weeks, but was returned nonetheless.
You would think I would have learned my lesson, but I commit the same offense several times a week.
Perhaps it will take another ticket for me to learn my lesson, or at least learn a lesson for a week or two.

- Yes, I totally agree with you. To begin with, man is created having only two feet, not a set tyres. He's not meant to travel at the speed of sound. I always say to my buddies, "Hey dude, what's the use of speeding? You'll get there anyway." Drive safe, drive responsibly. People refer to eliminating useless and potentially dangerous driving behavior as "defensive driving". Now in the following site you can get more advice on defensive driving . Be advised. Drive safely and responsibly.

According Don's videoclass we know 1-2 links to the same domain must be in a lens. You have 6 links to your blog. Is it OK?

- I liked your article on "Is it moral to try to get out of a speed ticket?" I think that most people are condemned by their own conscience - but there will always be those that push the envelope to see how much they can get away with.

- You might think it is strange for an oldish woman to write to you. I wasn't alway old. When I was young I drove in "Powderpuff" derbies. My brothers owned their (or I should say "our") own stock car. We learned how to "roll" the car. This gave the crowd a big thrill - but was very safe as we were strapped in and had strong "roll-bars." I had to learn how to repair the car too! By the end of a rally mum thought, by the look of me, that she had another boy coming home for supper. I earned the nickname "Wayne." I really do appreciate your lens. I am still driving and appreciate your viewpoint. I am going to give you 5 stars.
