Safer Injection of Drugs
I'm sure that everyone knows that injecting drugs intravenously is not good for you, but what about those who do it anyways? Knowing the correct technique can prevent infections and vein damage and even save lives. This lens is meant only to be a harm reduction tool and should not be mistaken for professional medical advice.
Needed Injection Supplies
(aka "works" or "a kit")
Before trying to inject yourself, you need to gather the supplies you will need. You will also need to find a place where you won't be disturbed and a clean, flat surface to work on.
- New syringes. (1 cc, 29-31 gauge, 5/16" short needle)
- Clean water (preferably sterile)
- Alcohol pad or alcohol and some clean tissue
- Small, clean container to mix in (spoon, vial, top cap to syringe)
- Clean, dry cotton balls, cotton swabs, or tissue
- Tourniquet (belt or rubber medical tourniquet)
