The duties of a safety officer will be to ensure that the safety policy as laid down by management is maintaned and armended as neccessary.

(a) He will assist line management to carry out their responsiblities for all aspects of health and safety.
(b) shall keep up to dates with development in health and safety.
(c) will ensure that adequate training is given to new and existing employees and will assist with this training.
(d) shall maintain the accident reporting system and when neccesary will assist with the investigation and reporting accidents.
(e) shall carry out frequent inspection and report all hazards and breaches of statutory requirements to management.
(f) will arrange all safety meetings.
(g) it is the duty of the safety officer to ensure that the company's policy is implemented, adhere, understood and communicated to all employee.

Induction Of All Person's On Work Site

MUSTER POINT.

A muster point is a place of relative safety to which employees gather to await further instructions. in a work site or company premises, muster point are located in various places so that employees do not have to travel a long distance before getting to one of them. employee are usually assigned to muster points. This ensure that certain muster point are not over crowded while others are empty. This arrangement facilitates roll call during an emergency.

All persons on the site including visitors, who are to spend the nights on the site must be assign to a muster point. An emergency can strike at any time. during emergency drill, gathering of employee at their designated muster point should be checked so that the necessary corrections could be noted and effected. the number of muster points in a work site is influenced by the number of workers and the size of the work site.
