Crocus Sativus are the beautiful fall blooming crocus that produce the rare and delicious Saffron spice! These small bulbs or corms produce lovely lilac purple flowers with darker veining, and long slender dark green herbaceous leaves. The flowers have three bright orangish red stigma, which are harvested and dried as Saffron, a rare and expensive spice used to flavor food, and give it a rich yellow color.
