I consider myself to be an MLM veteran. Actually, I may be more of a wounded soldier! My first venture in MLM was in 2002. But that venture didn't last long, because the company was shut down as an illegal pyramid. Ooops! But I learned a lot from that experience, and now I know all about the DSA, what it is, what it does, and the value it provides. My next venture was a jewelry company. I loved that business! But, I was my best customer and wasn't earning as much as I was spending. So I couldn't afford to stay there too long. But I learned a lot about what type of company and product build a business with return, loyal customers. My next business was a skin care company. A really great company, I still use their products. But I wasn't good at getting people to have parties. I gained loyal repeat customers, but growing my business became difficult once I worked my way through my warm market.

When I look back on all these ventures, the one thing that is clear to me is that building an mlm business is all about the law of averages. When you get the message out to people, over time you will see that a specific percentage will be receptive to your message.

Every single one of those companies stressed the value of your "list" and your warm market. I have a pretty substantial warm market list. But guess what? My friends are getting tired of me pestering them!

Now I have discovered how to use the internet to actually get the message out to people who want to hear the message. This not only increases the law of averages, but my friends and family are grateful!

So why do most mlm's not teach these principles? There are two primary reasons:

1. Until recently, the internet did not provide inexpensive ways for technologically-challenged people to use the internet to their advantage.

2. Consequently, many mlm-savey people haven't learned these tools yet.

Social networking (also called Web 2.0) provides a way to get your message out to people who are interested. What is a social networking site? Well, this is one. It's a way for people to pass information to other people and provide an interaction between the users.
