Like many of us after 9/11 I wanted to do something anything, but never could find the right "fit" until one day I was watching CBS's The Early Show and I saw these two ladies holding a banner that said SoldiersAngels.org so I went to the site and read the site then immediately called my husband and asked if I could "adopt" a soldier. I explained everything and he said YES!

Like many of you on 9/11 my husband and I lost a friend. I almost lost my husband as well as a cousin of mine. I discovered that a cousin of mine who then was in the Army and worked at the Pentagon should have been in her office at the time the plane hit BUT her office was being remodeled. My husband was suppose to be at a meeting in Tower I but early that morning he received a call that it was canceled.

Even before joining Soldiers' Angels I've known people in the military friends and family I've always wanted to find a way to help them but never could until 2005 find the right fit

Little did I know how full filling being an Angel is and you TRULY become friends with the soldiers.

This is Jesse M - First and formal, I would like to thank you for supporting us service members abroad. I means a whole lot to receive letters and packages of love from people we don't know. God does amazing things to bring joy to all who are readily to receive it. You and the Soldiers' Angels organization are top notch and I personally appreciate everything you all have done for me and the many Soldiers you have reached. So thanks a million!

Next and being informal, wow just straight wow! The Baltimore Raven's Cheerleaders autographed photos wow! Now that is straight big time stuff right there! Yes, I am a big Baltimore Raven's Fan, and your gift just sealed that forever! Hahahaha, bet you are smiling with joy because you know I am! Your gift and gesture is very much appreciated; all of my battle buddies are straight jealous and are ready to move to Baltimore. I told them to consider the outskirts lol This gift that you have shared goes far beyond anything gift I have received while deployed. Although I live and most likely will retire in TX, the Dallas Cowboys and their Cheerleaders doesn't have anything on our Baltimore Ravens and the lovely Raven Cheerleaders! While home on R&R in December 2008, I was fortunate to attend the Ravens and Cowboys game in Dallas, TX. It was the last Cowboy game in the Texas Stadium. My family surprised me with tickets and a fun filled weekend get away in Dallas. My wife and I were standing brave and tall along with roughly 20 other Raven's fans scattered amongst the 60 thousand plus Cowboy Fans. Our position in the stands were about the 20 yard line, 4 rows up from the field. We got to see all the players and team personnel on the side line.

Last, but never lest, want to thank you again for sending me this great gift; again, what a surprise in itself. If there is ever anything I can do for you or your organization, please do not hesitate to make a request.

i brought the box home.. and opened it.. and we are all saying awww!~!! the kids were screeching.... its Christmas!!!! its Christmas!!! they have never seen white playdough ... they were totally in awe!!!!

i did take half and put it to the side... so we could use it when we travel back to the states next month,

Not always receiving a THANK YOU or a pat on the back from the ones that they make the sacrifices for...

Sacrificing pieces of themselves, their bodies and sometimes their lives.

When able they WILL once again answer the call of duty.

For what?...to protect our FREEDOMS!

For who?...US....AMERICA!

For they are our Military Might!

Some are called Soldiers, some are called Marines, some are called Sailors, some are called Airman and some are called Coasties....they are our US ARMED FORCES

They are near and far. Deployed six months, a year maybe even longer

In warzones, war torn countries or on "assignment" they serve their country with Strength, Courage and Honor.

Missing their friends and family with each passing day of a deployment.. leads up to the excitement and anticipation of a count down of months, weeks, days, hours and seconds of a much needed leave....

Anxiously awaiting for that day to come....the day that EVERY member of our Armed Forces looks forward too to go home....Stateside that is....to see their friends and family!!

Excited to see their friends..hold their loved ones tight. To our Armed Forces the feeling of being back in the LAND of FREE and the HOME of BRAVE is worth all of the sacrifices in the world

Leave or R & R should be a time for our Armed Forces to recharge, have some fun.....get a little lovin' some good food and much needed sleep....

NO member of our Armed Forces should ever feel that being on deployment is better then being in the LAND of the FREE and the HOME of the BRAVE!

After all it IS the LAND of the FREE and the HOME of the BRAVE that our ARMED FORCES are making sacrifices for.....it should be the one place on earth that our ARMED FORCES would rather BE!

Over There our troops are Over There

First tour, second tour, third tour with strength and courage they go Over There.

Making sacrifices Over There while we are Over Here living our lives.

When all they truly want is a small piece of home and to know they are loved, supported and appreciated while they are Over There.

Over Here there is team of Angels who ensures that they receive a piece of home and know that they are loved, supported and appreciated while they are Over There.

Over Here we experience our own each individual difficulty. Over There some may experience the joy of a thankful child. Over There some may experience things that no one person can imagine. Over There some may pay the ultimate sacrifice.

When it comes time for them to return from Over There to Over Here they deserve the respect and gratitude for the sacrifices that they endured.

Over There, Over Here our troops should always feel that they are loved, supported and appreciated.....
