The Beauty of Art

Here is a piece I wrote sometime ago for a class I was taking, where we had to describe our favorite place and at the time I had not gone anywhere that I could consider to be my favorite place, so I made a place. I hope you enjoy:

"My Favorite Place"

As I am walking down this endless road in my favorite place, I can see the sun shining down over the mountain tops with streams of golden light, from the sky shining bright with a warm mixture of soft yellow, red, orange and violet hues, filled with cotton balls of clouds. I looked up in the sky I could feel the warm heat of the peaceful light of the morning sun, shining down on my face. The air is fresh and crisp, smelling of honeysuckles and morning dew. The river was flowing, ending in a divine white waterfall, as I take in a deep breath of fresh air, I could smell the sweet scents of life around me. As I walked I listened to the slight soothing hum of the waterfall, the quiet chirping of the birds and the peace that surrounded me. The ground was warm, soft and moist under my feet, I walked through the rich thick texture of the grass that was an exquisite velvety green, it glistened from the morning dew. With the dew rolling off my feet, I walked slowly aking in all of the effulgent sights and listening to all the pleasant sounds of humming and the murmurs of the animals. The road was outlined by tall luxurious mahogany trees.

There were beautiful array of birds and butterflies fluttering around, full of luminous colors of red, blue, yellow, green and violet tones. The flowers were all in bloom, lilacs, orchids, birds of paradise, hyacinths and hibiscus all with radiant colors and filling the air with aromas of their sweet light scents of perfume. The cypress vines were entwined around the trees they were bursting with their magnificent purple flowers blooming from them. I could hear off in the distance the sound of the animals all around me, running free through the trees, basking in the peaceful beauty of their environment.

I walked in my favorite place, entranced by the ambiences of the day, time was passing by. I looked up off in the distance I could see the sun beginning to set over the mountain tops. I see the colors of the sky begin to grow into dark shades of orange, red and violet tints, I stopped walking and looked around to find a nice spot to sit and enjoy the view of the night falling, and the moon rising. It's now night and I am swimming in the serenity of the darkness, looking up at the dazzling stars that light up the sky. The sky is a deep intensifying midnight blue, the moon is shining and glowing off the rich darkness of the lake. I feel like I am just standing still in time with no past, no present or future. With endless thoughts of happiness, engulfed by the sanctuary of my surroundings I stretch out and lay down near the edge of the lake, where I can watch the moon glow upon it, I think about how beautiful the day was and how tranquil the night is. Then I realize how wondrous this place is, because there is no pain, no crime or destruction, no war or hatred just love, everlasting love and happiness all around. I feel free and at peace. I see nothing but beauty and love everywhere.

As I lay here I wallow in my heaven, I let my thoughts roam free and close my eyes letting my imagination and my emotions run wild. As I am floating away into a dream state, I listen to the sounds of the surrounding night. The soft light whispers of the wind, the shallow murmurs of the animals and the faint sound of my breathing all playing together like a beauty symphony. While in a hypnotic slumber my milieu invades my dreams and then there is nothing but a light, a glowing bright light. In that light I find release and an escape from the desolate realities of life. In the light I wish I could stay forever. In this light is where I find you, a friend, a savior and a ray of hope for a better tomorrow. It's what I see when I look into your eyes, it's what I feel when I'm in your arms, it's what I taste when I kiss your lips, this place, this light, this overwhelming all consuming feeling I feel when I'm with you. This place is where I see all that is beautiful. A complete sense of happiness, a feeling of freedom, of joy, this place, it is a wondrous place, this place that I am in. My favorite place, is that place, that small corner of space, that place you have in your heart for me; that place where your love is stored, that's it; that's the place I always want to be; that is what this place is; that's my place; that's my favorite place. Your heart, where love grows, beauty is found, and life flourishes, that's the place; that's this place; my favorite place.
