Saint Dymphna Virgin Martyr

When I was ready to receive my confirmation I had to decide on my patron saint.

I was confirmed as an adult and had already been exposed to the trials and tribulations of the world we live in and it took its toll on me.

I chose St Dymphna.

When deciding on my saint I was lost, so during class the instructors were giving suggestions on some saints, what they stood for, their history and such.

Then I heard this: " St. Dympha is a good one. She is the patron saint for the mentally ill, and people with nervous, anxiety disorders."
My ears went up like a dog hearing "wana go out?!"

I very quietly raised my hand to see the prayer card as not to bring attention to myself do to the nature of the saint. I know stupid right? But I just didn't want people looking at me funny.

I am a very nervous person and this is why I chose her.
