Saint Lucy, Patron Saint of Vision

Saint Lucy is the Catholic patron saint of vision.  She is invoked for her healing intercession by those suffering eye disease.  She is also the patroness of clarity of vision and purity of heart, which makes her a good person for an artist and writer, like me, who is seeking those goals in my work,  to turn to.

Her feast day is December 13, which falls in Advent. 

In Sweden, she is particularly celebrated as a patron of young girls and the charming custom of having the oldest daughter wearing a crown of candles brings breakfast to her parents shines light into the darkness of winter.  Her symbol is a wheat sheaf.

Novena to St. Lucy in Honor of Her Feast

December 5-December 13

A novena is said for nine days usually to a saint asking for intercession. It is traditional to begin a novena nine days before a saint's feast day, ending it on the feast but novenas can be said at any time. St. Lucy, as the patroness of vision, can be invoked in either of the two following novenas for anyone who is suffering eye problems or about to undergo eye surgery.

    I am scheduled to have a corneal transplant 12/13. I was interested in the novena but cannot get it on my computer. Can you help me find this novena prayer

    The links did not work for me either. I hope they are simply down for maintenance for the site still shows up in Google and in McAffee's site-advisor.
