Salsa for Kittens and Puppies introduces Salsa to Children

Written by Andy Blackman Horowitz Salsa for Kittens and Puppies introduces young children to Salsa. With Spanish rhythms and dance, children are introduced to the music of Latin Americans who brought their music from Cuba, and Puerto Rico mixed it with African roots and launched it into the world.

Come dance to the Salsa Beat with Otis and all his puppy and kitten friends, each of whom represent a famous contributor to Salsa History.

The Story of Otis the Cat

Learn about Salsa

Join Otis the cat on his annual birthday romp through New York City.

Each year his mother has a picnic for Otis in Central Park. It's a very musical picnic, because Otis prepares a special sauce that makes everyone in the city dance to Salsa music.

Each of the friends that arrive at the picnic brings an instrument. When all the guests arrive, Otis brings out his piano and they all play the Salsa.

Assisting the narrator is a little girl who happily injects some Spanish words as the story is being told.

I love salsa, the eating kind, but the dancing kind would be great exercise!

spirituality says:

I'd like to LEARN the salsa - sounds like fun. I'd like to KNOW Spanish: understanding more people always interests me. However I know how much work it is to learn a new language :( (especially after 30)

Hello! How to Salsa like the stars :)

ArtByLinda says:

Salsa looks so fun!

Evelyn_Saenz says:

I love to make Salsa from fresh tomatoes, bell peppers and culantro.

Spanish

GrowWear says:

At my age, I'd better go with learning Spanish. The older I get, the more I feel like a clod hopper when I dance. Well, I haven't danced lately to find this out; I almost fell by sliding on some ice on the back porch. The total absence of grace when I tried to catch myself felt, well, quite clod-hoppy. :)

Evelyn_Saenz says:

Learning Spanish is lots of fun. I especially love to practice Spanish while singing along to my favorite Salsa Artists.

MobiStories does for children's picture books what the Kindle does for novels and non-fiction. If you want to give a MobiStories book a whirl for free to check it out, download "Salsa for Puppies & Kittens" to check it out. I love this concept, especially since their library contains so many of our favorites from the local library. So rather than replacing real books it reinforces my son's love of reading.
The Coupon Coup: Love It, or Leave It?
MobiStories toutes that reading to your child is still the most important thing you can do....but when you can't, there are MobiStories. I was skeptical at first, but I must say I'm sold on the idea. Just like any other source of media entertaiment...it is up to us to use it in addition to, not to replace, our actual parenting.
