Salvador Dali - religiously themed surrealistic art

Ranked #280 in Home & Garden, #5,077 overall

Posters, wall art and Art Prints

A madman? A genius? A surrealist painter, but also a realist painter. An atheist, but later converted to Roman Catholicism. Despite the many developments in his art, a few threads are constant:

  • Using modern and classic painting techniques

  • Shocking his audience

  • Never being what people expected

When he reconverted to the Roman Catholic faith he took the skills he'd developed as a Surrealistic painter and created religious art with it. Some of it is surprisingly modern in theme: meditating on a rose for instance. But he also paints the classic Catholic themes like the last supper and the crucifixion. Whatever he paints though, it is always unique and stunning.

On this page you will find posters based on those paintings. All of them are available framed as well.

Classic Catholic themes

Can one use the word 'classic' when it comes to Salvador Dali?

A great Christmas Gift

A Salvador Dali poster is a great Christmas present for anybody into surrealist art, or in this case, religious art.

Back in the last real estate crash, in the 1980s, there were people driving around with their car trunks full of Dali art prints. They were trying to trade them as down payments for houses, or anything else of value. Many of the prints were legitimate, there were just that many around. Maybe this depression we'll see former gallery owners offering up massive amounts of Thomas Kinkade or Disney art prints.

Then again, we didn't have eBay in the 80s.

Thank you. I enjoy Dali's work. A most unusual man.

Wonderful lens. I have had the pleasure of seeing several of these pieces in person. I live in Florida and have visited the Dali Museum in St. Pete several times. There is a new one now, have not gotten to see it yet though. Hopefully soon :) *blessed*
