I created a sampler afghan based almost entirely from this book. A few of the squares I made up myself, and I took some inspiration for other squares from some other stitch libraries. The best feature of this book is that it helps you incorporate different stitch patterns into similar sized squares without you needing to do the calculations!

I have reviewed many books by Debbie Abrahams. This book is full of color, color and more color. Using any of these charts you will be able to create a really modern design. The book features more color than texture, but by bringing color into more textured pieces you could combine them all into one cohesive knit afghan.

- What gorgeous afghans can be created simply by knitting squares! It's especially interesting to combine different stitch patterns, as each afghan would become unique! I've never knitted an afghan, but have crocheted a few.

- I just took a beginning knit class yesterday and relearned the basics: cast on and knit stitch. I made a little bunny with a square I made in the class. Next month I get to learn Cast off, purl, increase and decrease. I can't wait to be able to do a knit sampler and learn more about this needle craft. 10 years of crochet and I'm ready to challenge myself with 2 needles. :)
