However some authors link to downloadable samples. These can still usually be read for free if you have the right e-reader, or if you download free software. Examples of the two main formats are given below.

The other popular format is .epub. This is supported by most ereaders besides the Kindle.     Great lens! I've downloaded quite a few samples on my Kindle - and yeah, I usually get the links from Twitter. I used to hate Twitter but once you get used to it you can find some really cool stuff and meet some great people.
