The Samsung CLP 500 printer is an elegant and functional laser printer that allows you to do all the fancy tricks without having to part with the cash you might expect. A good return on your investment is pretty much guaranteed, without any compromise in quality thanks to the Samsung CLP 500 laser toner.
A Great Investment
It is fast, with up to 21 pages per minute for black and white and five pages per minute for color. It is the fastest model in its category, which is a bonus for clients who hate to wait. It does take a couple of minutes for it to start its first page, but this is not a big deal.
Connectivity is supercharged for this model. Unfortunately the wireless network card is optional, but apart from that you will love the transfer speed of the USB 2.0 and the standard IEEE-1284 included in the box. If like me you enjoy the luxury of not having cables all over the place, you might want to invest a little extra in the wireless capability.

Duplexing refers to double-sided printing and the Samsung CLP 500 printer does this for a price you will struggle to match. Duplexing is not fast, but it is a greener and cheaper alternative to single side printing. With this special feature creating great catalogues and brochures with a professional look and feeling is easy. The method the printer uses to turn over and reprint the second side is a bit strange. You will see what I mean - just make sure you do not try to tug at the page until it has finished.
It is easy to operate too. The built in LCD window makes copying, printing and duplexing a breeze. It is also compatible with PCs and Mac, great for dual platform offices.
It is quiet for a laser printer, but if you are a Mercedes and Audi-type owner who was willing to pay for near-complete silence when drive, you might want to invest a little more in a different machine. However, with normal business noises what they are, you shouldn't be bothered at all by the 48 decibels of noise it creates.
Operating the printer is very simple. The guts of the machine are easily accessible through convenient side panels that allow you to access what you need. This makes RAM expansions and repairs easier to carry out. It comes, as all printers seem to do, with a complimentary Samsung printer toner. Don't expect more that 1,500 pages, or a few less at high quality.
The printing resolution is at 1,200 dots per inch and comes with a four color toner system. The memory is also more than adequate at 65 MB of random access memory (RAM), which can be expanded to 192 MB for hardcore users.
