The San Francisco Sound - Psychedelic Rock
San Francisco Sound / Psychadelic Rock was my favorite music for many years. In my later years I've gravitated to the more peaceful space music, or classical, but I still love folk and of course every now and then get a charge from pulling out my San Francisco Sound / Psychadelic Rock DVDs and rocking out... or at least spending time listening to the older sounds I loved so much in my youth.
I still have albums / cassettes / cd's from the bands featured below: Janis Joplin with Big Brother and the Holding Company, Quicksilver Messenger Service, the Grateful Dead, and Jefferson Airplane. I'd love to know who your sixties music favorites are. Leave a comment to let me know.

The performances on this DVD were filmed at the KQED TV studios in San Francisco in April 1967, just before the Monterey Pop Music Festival. Songs are interspersed with short interviews with Janis and the band members - with excellent sound and picture quality for that era. (57 Minutes) There is an accompanying CD with the same music.
