I am absolutely hooked on sandcarving! I was a wildlife biologist working for the government for over 15 years and my job was overtaking my entire life. I loved what I did, but something was missing. Creativity! I discovered sandcarving in 2004 when I did a Google search for "you don't have to be an artist". In my results, I came across SCM, a company that sells sandcarving equipment. Their webpage offered an online video demo that proclaimed exactly that ..."you don't have to be an artist!!". I watched that video over and over throughout the night, and by morning I threw down my credit card and purchased a bunch of equipment! Once the equipment arrived, I was faced with the challenge of researching and teaching myself how to do this. There are LOADS of sites and resources for infomation, equipment, how-to's, designs etc, and it can take quite a lot of time and effort to find them all! The purpose of this sandcarving page is to offer a compilation of excellent sources for new and experienced sandcarvers. Have a blast!
