About San Luis Obispo
San Luis Obispo is the home to two colleges, California Polytechnic State University and Cuesta College. The thriving wine industry and endless acres of picturesque vineyards located only minutes from downtown, natives celebrate the harvests of each season with world-class wines and innovative, cosmopolitan-inspired cuisine. One of the most popular attractions in the area is SLO's weekly farmers market which takes place on Higuera and adjoining streets downtown. This event is how the locals kick off each weekend of the year (except Thanksgiving) and it goes from 6-9 p.m.

San Luis Obispo population growth
San Luis Obispo is a very desireable are to live in due to its mild climate and the proximity to the Pacific ocean. Add to that a vibrant university like Cal Poly and you have the making of high housing costs. Rents are high near the university, of course.

- Nice surprise to find you on Squidoo. Glad you didn't do Templeton yet, because I just published my very first lens on Templeton. I couldn't think of a better place to start than my own adopted hometown.
