Is Santa Claus Real?

I live in a beautiful little cottage in a magical village in the North Pole with my lovely wife Mrs Claus. It can get very cold indeed here, in fact in 1975 the temperature went down as low as -67 degrees fahrenheit! It's very nice and cosy in my house though, Mrs Claus always makes sure there's a fire burning.

The reindeer barn is right next door, and in the village is the workshop where the elves and I make all the toys. Elf school is only a minute away and the junior elves live in dormitories. The more senior elves have their own little huts.

Everything is connected by underground passageways, so I can visit the elves, elf school, the workshop and the reindeer without setting foot outside if I wish.

I often get asked this question. Luckily due to all the different time zones around the world and the rotation of the earth I actually have 31 hours to get presents to all the good boys and girls. I travel from east to west, and the elves plan a very detailed route for me. Christmas eve is very busy for me and hard work, but I have to confess there is some magic involved!

Oh and I have to say a big thank you to the reindeer, thank goodness they can fly so fast, I couldn't do it without them!

The naughty or nice list is now completely computerized and is much easier to maintain - I used to get terrible cramp from all the writing! The elves help me to check on every single boy and girl in the world - you probably don't even realise that they are around you seeing if you are being bad or good, as they are super fast!

Sometimes if you are very lucky and extra specially good you might catch a glimpse of one of the magical little fellows. So remember to be extra kind and polite, clean your teeth and keep your room tidy, and your name will definitely be on the nice list.

I have so many reindeer here at the North Pole and it would take me all day to name them all, but the reindeer that pull the sleigh are:

There are hundreds of reindeer here at the North Pole, and they are very friendly, gentle creatures. We've recently had a new baby reindeer born and his name is Brisi which means "to shine". Isn't that lovely. You can see a picture of him if you scroll down.

I need lots of energy on Christmas Eve to get the job done and milk and cookies always go down a treat. I love anything sweet but I am fond of healthy snacks too. I'm very lucky because I get to try lots of different foods from all over the world, so just leave out your favourite snack for me and I will be jumping for joy!

Don't forget to leave out a carrot for the reindeer though, pulling the sleigh makes them very hungry!

As you can imagine, after delivering all those presents around the world, I am normally very tired after Christmas.

When I get home I put the sleigh away and the elves help me to put the reindeer back in their barn - we give them a feast of grains, carrots, and chocolate. I make sure that they have plenty of straw to get comfortable on and turn up the heating!

Then it's back to my house where Mrs Claus has cooked me a wonderful Christmas dinner. I eat until I am fit to burst, and then Mrs Claus and I get comfortable in front of the fire and watch one of our favourite Christmas movies - I normally fall asleep after about ten minutes!

I go to bed very early and then the next morning it's off to the workshop to thank the elves for all their hard work.
