Santa Cookies Plate and Collectibles
As the holiday of Christmas comes around I am sure you are getting ready to leave your treats for that Jolly Old St. Nick. You are not alone as everywhere, in many corners of the world, that believe in that jolly round bellied soul, children of all ages are following the long held tradition of leaving Christmas cookies out for Santa Clause on Christmas Eve. Where does this story come from and how did it get started? Partly it is because, well, Santa, just like you and I needs to eat as he is flying around all over the world bouncing up and down those chimneys and delivering our Christmas gifts. We don't want him to get skinny right?
It is so wonderful when your child is young as they are so happy and eager to help with setting up a plate of cookies and a glass of milk before they head to bed on Christmas Eve. You can just see the sparkle in their eyes, cause they know that they are doing just one more thing to get on the old man's list of good little boys and girls. It is so cute to watch as your child tries with all their might to stay awake so that they can see Santa munch down that snack they left just for him. If you are good at this you even leave two glasses assuring your little one that if they should get to see Santa eating the cookies, he would be so happy to share a glass of milk with them. Not Just A Plate Of Cookies For Santa but A Whole Cookie Jar
Sleep finally conquers their desire to stay and awake, and of course they will finally admit, to other inquiring kids, that they know for sure hat Santa won't come unless they are fast asleep. In the morning, many a child will find that Santa has left them a note thanking them and letting them know how much he enjoyed the Christmas cookies. "My, my, how does he have the time?" we ask out loud, "I am sure he only leaves that kind of note at the homes of the best little boys or girls"%u2026at which your child will just beam%u2026it is so worth it at this point to watch their eyes get big and their smiles even bigger. It is so wonderful to of course have your child help with making special Christmas cookies for Santa. If you make them a head of time or make a big batch to share, then it is a must to have a Santa Collectible Cookie Jar on hand to stow those in. I have it on very good authority that Santa loves Snickerdoodles, or at least that has been our experience at my home. While Coca Cola would like you to believe that he wants you to leave him a bottle of Coke, I have found that good quality Hot Chocolate goes much better with Snickerdoodles%u2026What is your families traditional cookie and drink favorite for Santa?

Christmas Morning Magic Traditions
Some steps to making Santa's cookie experience memorable for your children:At a young age your children will be delighted when they see that Santa did indeed stop by and visit Christmas Eve. Here are a few things we do that have created wonderful memories for our little ones through the years and have endured the test of several generations passing it on. There is nothing like adding just another touch of magic to Christmas morning.
1) Leave a few of the cookie crumbs scattered about. We have a healthy plate for Santa with cookies and fruit and veggies, so nibble some of those or leave an orange peel. A dash of spilled milk shows he was in a rush, but took the time for a bite.
2) One little cute idea is to drop a small piece of red velvet fabric by the fireplace. Your kids will find it Christmas morning and think that Santa ripped his suit while coming up and down the chimney.
3) Because Santa of course is in such a rush he is kind of a messy. If you have a real fireplace then maybe sprinkle some of the ashes around the area of the fireplace and if you are able to do this then take a large boots to make boot prints in the soot. If you have no fireplace make a few mud tracks by the front door, or whatever entry way you tell your kids that Santa comes in.
4) I like to sprinkle Santa's magical Christmas dust- aka silver glitter - around the tree and on the presents.
6) Along with their stocking stuffers, you can also have Santa leave a personal note to the children in their stockings, or on the plate of cookies. This really does make them feel extra special. This is a great moment for Santa the moralizer to remind them to be good all year long not just at Christmas time. If this becomes a tradition, we kept them in books for each of the kids along with pictures of them opening their presents. As they became parents these became precious reminders of carrying on traditions of their own.
All in all Christmas is about spending quality time with your family and your children. It is one of the few times of the year when we can offer them a hint of this magical gift, the gift of giving, that Santa embodies. Christmas is a time to make new traditions and memories that your children will treasure forever!
