Did you ever wonder where Santa Claus came from? Well this delightful story tells the tale.
When a baby with only a name tag reading "Claus" is dropped on the doorstep of an elf family named The Kringles, Tanta Kringle and the rest of her family decide to keep him and name the baby Kris.

When Kris is old enough he volunteers to deliver the toys made by the Kringles to a nearby town called Sombertown. He arrives in town and meets a pretty school teacher named Miss Jessica. He also befriends a little penguin who joins him on his travels. After the ruler of Sombertown, Burgermeister Meisterburger, hear's of the toys he immediatly bans toys in the town.
Kris endures many obsticles which include an evil Winter Warlock, being arrested by the Burgermeister, getting thrown into jail and trying to find a way to deliver toys to the children.

We soon find out how Christmas Stockings came about, what softens up the Winter Warlock AND the Burgermeister, how Kris ended up being called Santa Claus and who eventually became his wife.
