Ability to watch TV on PC or laptop is proven to save money from the high cost of cable / satellite TV services, to have channels from all over the world in many different languages and to keep up with your favorite programs while you travel anywhere in the world.
I am a huge sports fan, but because of my job (I travel abroad) and girlfriend (I do not want to fight over the remote when I am at home) I can't always keep up with my favorite teams. That is why I buy and test many new gadgets that come out. I want to be able to check on my favorite teams no matter where in the world I am.
It is entirely possible to watch TV on PC for free. Free TV on computer is free to air satellite TV broadcasts on certain online satellite TV stations.
You can find Satellite TV channels doing a search online for phrases such as "TV on PC", "TV for PC", "TV on Computer", "Satellite PC", "How To Watch TV on PC" and such. There are also free online TV programs streaming from different countries. The disadvantage to this is that it takes a lot of time to find the right station and figure out which channel you can watch for free.
A much better way is to install TV on PC computer program, that legally accesses thousands of television channels from all over the world and sends them to your computer through the internet, which allows you to watch TV on computer for free. Free means no subscriptions or recurring charges. Although you will pay a one time fee ranging between $40 - $50.
Who should consider TV on PC software? If you:
Travel - nowadays you can always get an Internet connection in any part of the word.
Want to watch programs from around the world
Have one TV in the family and always fight over the remote
Are paying too much for Cable
There are almost fifty different companies out on the Internet that offer the ability to watch TV on PC, plus promising thousands of channels. The bad thing is that some of them don't provide you with good service. A great service should include everything that you would ever need to watch TV on PC. This includes all software, and support if you need it.
I reviewed 11 How To Watch TV on PC software - only 3 met my criteria:
Should be 100% Legal - no hacking or cracking!
Should work anywhere in the world
Should not require extra hardware or TV card
Should be easy to install and use.
Should not require subscriptions & no recurring charges.
Should not allow spyware.
Should works with all versions of Windows (95, 98, NT, ME, 2000, XP, Vista)

By far the easiest-to-use TV on PC software I came across - my own experience says you should set aside maybe fifteen minutes to get fully installed.
This is the only TV on PC software that assumes absolutely no knowledge of computers. Impressively, my support ticket was responded to in under an hour (although it could take a little longer at weekends), and there is an unconditional 8 weeks money back guarantee.
Best of all, the software is the product of more than 7 years of dedicated research and development and quite popular and widely accepted world wide. Given that its proven to eliminate your TV bills, you could well recoup your investment in under a month.
Instant download - offers immediate access to the software once you have paid. Over 4000 stations available.
September 2008 Update: there is now a promotion running on the site, and it is temporarily available for $49.95 instead of $97.00 - as such, I recommend ordering sooner rather than later.
The Verdict: Fast and easy setup; 4000+ stations, works for complete computer novices - my top pick.

My second pick uses the same technology as my top pick - and again, I was impressed by the fast support, money-back guarantee and low setup costs.
All in all, its a great package for very little. So why only four stars?
Well, perhaps I was spoiled by my top pick, but I found the directions a little harder to follow - and since ease of use is so important, I decided to knock off a star.

IPtuber is my third and final pick.
The software actually includes six bonuses: (Billions of Files - Unlimited music downloads, Movie & Video Toolbar, DVD Decoder / Media Player, IPOD Video Converter, DVD to IPOD Converter, Free PC Video recording) arguably worth the cost of the software on its own.
The difference between this and the other two sites was small, however - my support ticket was not responded as fast as other two. A full, hands-on support system is vital if a relative "computer novice" is to install the technology, and here unfortunately it just wasn't there.
Where from here? I recommend Satellite PC Box:
