One of the issues many small business owners overlook when starting out in is the use and implementation of technology. The majority of computer technology usually requires a significant investment when starting out which is money a new company may not have.

One of the issues many small business owners overlook when starting out in is the use and implementation of technology. The majority of computer technology usually requires a significant investment when starting out which is money a new company may not have.

However, this technology can be as simple as creating just a few Microsoft Word templates. The great thing is that it doesn't necessarily mean hiring a huge amount of software developers to build a huge and complex technology and computer system. You don't need a lot of Microsoft training either to use.

Microsoft for all its good and bad issues, has provided small businesses with one of the most awesome tools they can use. Microsoft Word allows them to build templates that they can reuse as many times as they want.

Open a blank document in Microsoft Word and begin formatting. From the edit menu, you want to click Select All, and then choose a font style and font size. Microsoft Word then saves your font type and size.

If you are using an existing document to create a template, delete any and all information you won't be using repeatedly.

You now want to open the header/footer area of the document. Next, add your preferred header and footer information, and then close the area out.

Fix the page margins to a number that works for you. If you have any tables or text that you use repeatedly, add them.

You now want to save the document as a template. From the File menu, click Save As and in type field on the bottom of the window, click the drop-down area to select Document Template.

You last step is to do all the fun stuff like adding text and graphics to your new template. Don't forget to delete any information from an existing document if you won't be using it in any future templates and always save any changes before you close out.
