Save the Dates can Save your Day!
After reserving the location for your wedding and setting the date, the hard part begins, planning your wedding. Wouldn't it be disappointing if you couldn't get all your friends and family there on you're your big day? Save the Date cards play a big role so your guests can reserve your wedding on their calendar before something else gets there first. Usually, wedding invitations are sent between two to three months prior to the wedding. This doesn't give much time to help people prevent conflicts during busy times of the year.
Your should send your Save the Dates out soon after you set your wedding date but do your best to get them out at least eight or nine months before your wedding. Save the dates are a excellent for announcing your engagement as well as letting them know the date and location of the wedding. It's most critical to send Save the Dates if you are having a destination wedding to allow guests to save money, make travel arrangements, and schedule vacation time at work. Save the Date cards are also important if you are set your wedding during summer break or around the holidays.
Save the dates are meant to be a lot less formal than wedding invitations so have some fun! Save the Date Magnets are pretty popular and my personal favorite. It's hard for your guests to forget about your wedding when it's stuck on their refrigerator!
Here are some things to include on your save the dates. Your wedding day is obviously the most important. If you have a wedding website you can include your address, it's a good idea to include the city and state where the wedding will be held, as well as the names of the bride and groom. Be sure to include the phrase, "Formal Invitation to Follow." You don't have to go into detail. The main point of the save the date is to get your wedding on your guest's calendar so all your family and friends make it on that special day.
