Designer capsule collections are popping up at mass market retailers at steady pace and meeting with much success. The big three of the designer-meets-masses trend-- Target, Top Shop, and H&M-- have received tons of press, and for good reason. But, if you think these three retailers are the end all and be all of the designer capsule collection you are really missing out. The most under-rated purveyor of designer capsule collections is the affordable French retailer La Redoute and what they lack in media exposure they more than make up for in amazing collaborations. Where other retailers specialize in reformulating trendy boutique labels into full downmarket lines, La Redoute has concentrated on much smaller collections featuring original designs from the best of French Pret-a-Porter and Haute Couture.

I agree with you completely, I would have never known about La Redoute had a friend not have shown me a catalog. This Fall season's clothes have all been beautiful, the Christian Lacroix line was just the opportunity I needed to get a piece of couture on a less than couture budget.
