7 Tips That Helped Save My Marriage
I am so glad that I stopped my divorce proceedings and me and my wife are back on track with our marriage. So I thought I would share some advice that I have learned along the crazy path of avoiding a divorce.
- You and your spouse need to make a list of things that make you feel loved. Switch lists and try to do at least one thing from that list each and every day. Don't do the same thing routinely or it will have a negative effect.
- Think of some pet names for each other and use them. (You can tell if the chosen name is good or not by your spouses reactions to it.)
- When discussing critical issues, try to phrase your comments to begin with "When you (insert issue), it makes me feel (insert reaction)."
- Look inward and make changes in yourself to start the ball rolling.
- Setup a reward system for good deeds done. For example, if you do something for the other then you get something in return. This also helps get the ball rolling.
- Read the 5 Love Languages. It really does a great job explaining different types of people's view of love. You and your spouse should read it and figure out which love language you speak and let the other know so they will have a little enlightenment on what makes you feel loved.
