How To Save Marriage Tip 1

Creating Intimacy

One of the most important missing ingredient in a marriage that is on the verge of divorce is a lack of intimacy. Sit down and think about this seriously, "is my marriage suffering from a lack of intimacy?"

In many loving marriages, one of the vital is having a level of intimacy between the couple, not only physically but also emotionally. Emotional intimacy that is something that is often overlooked by many in their marriages.

What is emotional intimacy then? What do I have to do to create or increase the level of emotional intimacy with my spouse?

Emotional intimacy can only be achieved if you are open and transparent with your spouse. It is nothing more than being able to share your inner most emotions and satisfying your emotional needs.

Thus if you are always keeping things to yourself and dealing with things on your own and blocking out your spouse emotionally, then this is a marriage that is lacking in intimacy.

Well, it's time for you to do something about it!

From this moment on, try to share or attempt to share your problems and any worries that you have right now with your spouse. In most cases, people who are always worried and preoccupied with a problem or situation, will shut everyone out in their life and try to fix or deal with the problems by themselves.

In a marriage, spouses can easily sense that something is not right and that they are kept in the dark about something. They will feel redundant and hurt in the long run, thereby causing some mistrust and bad feelings in the marriage.

Another great way to help your marriage is to make time for your marriage. This way, you are showing your spouse that you care enough for them and they are important enough for you to change your schedule in order to make time for them. However, you must really be happy about it, excited and looking forward to spending that special time with your spouse. So, be spontaneous and once in a while take an impromptu afternoon off, have some fun and alone time with your spouse.

Creating and fostering intimacy in your marriage so that you can save marriage will take time and is an ongoing process. Don't ever make the mistake of allowing your marriage to be left set on auto-pilot. A healthy and intimate marriage is one that is attended to regularly, only then will it thrive.
