Saving money can be very difficult in the coming year try a few of these steps and see how they will help you save money.

Each and every year you've been trying to save money but nothing has been going so great, especially now since the oil crisis where gas has gone up even the cost of food has risen to the point where it's really affecting your pocketbook. Most of us are looking at the year 2009 and wondering if it is even possible to save any amount of money. There is hope you can lower your day today expenses and get into a good habit of saving money.

5 Tips!

I love money saving tips, theres always something new :)

1. Most of us don't realize the amount of money we spend on items that are not necessities. For 30 days write everything you buy down whether it be a chocolate bar, a soda or a haircut. In those 30 days you're going to realize that 50% of which you purchased was unnecessary. And that 50% of which purchased could have been bought in bulk or at wholesale prices.

2. Calculate your income find out how much money is coming in throughout those 30 days. Make sure you put into account your rent/mortgage and other household bills. The remaining money is the money you're going to begin saving.

3. Buying in bulk, wholesale or store sales and using coupons. So that daily purchase of a chocolate bar and soda added up throughout the month to approximately $60.00. What you want to do is go to a grocery store and purchase 30 chocolate bars in bulk. And do the same with your sodas this is going to save you approximately 75% of the $60.00 you spend monthly.

4. One problem I find with coupons is that the product on the coupon is not a product you would not usually buy. Make sure you use coupons that are for products you use normally. Remember you're trying to save money in 2009 not find new products to buy.

5. Don't forget to buy products after big holidays. The day after Christmas could be one of the best times to buy bedding, towels and home electronics. In some cases you can buy these products at 50-75% off the retail price.Stay ahead this coming year find ways to save as much money as you can, if needed, use that money to pay off credit cards, insurance or other debts. Don't keep those old habits and bring them into the new year those habits didn't help you in the year 2008 and they differently won't help you in the year 2009.

I see money in your fortune cookie!
