Ok, What's This About?!?

well, honestly, you had to ask?!

It all started on a rather normal day. I was bored. I wanted to go see a movie. I went to a movie. Movie of choice? The Bucket List. So sitting through the movie I found that I became inspired to make my own "Bucket List", or a list of crap/amazing things that I want to do before I die. I began brainstorming throughout the movie, while still attempting to pay attention. I came up with a few things everyone thinks of. You know, travel to your favorite destinations and such.

After a while (and I mean a while since that movie hasn't been in theatres for a while) I began to think about my life. I was really doing anything. Well, besides the fact that I literally wasn't doing anything, as in sitting in from of the computer all night, I also didn't feel like I was living my life to it's full potential. "Potential". That word can kill. But what I was referring to was my potential to help others. If I was feelingas if I wasn't accomplishing anything, it was because I wasn't. And they always say you feel twice as good if you help someone else.

So, I began reading (Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul), reflecting (some remorable touching experiences I've witnessed), and watching tv. TV. My favorite past time. But I wasn't watching what I normally did. I was watching charity things. Like those infomercials. But one that really caught my eye was that Degrassi special where they built a school in Africa.

I was inpired! I've gotten on the computer and started researching charities. Many. And I came across Save the Children. One of the first things that caught my attention was their "lens" feature. Just by having a site and having people see it they get money. How cool is that?! I felt as though I wouldn't really be doing anything, but I knew it'd help. So I was led here. And I made this page.

That's my story.

Amy's Bucket List

Things She plans to do Before She Dies

  • [ ] Visit New Zealand to see the Hobbits' huts
  • [ ] Travel across Europe to see all those awesome historical buildings everyone wants to see (specifics to be added eventually)
  • [ ] Help someone out. Like really, truly make a difference in their life.
  • [ ] Graduate College (4 year)
  • [ ] Make a cross country road trip
  • [ ] Talk in front of a crowd. (one of my biggest fears)
  • [ ] Write a book. About anything!
  • [ ] Pet a penguin.
  • [ ] Laugh so hard I cry, can't breathe, spew whatever I may be drinking, etc.
  • [ ] Make someone else laugh so hard they cry, can't breathe, spew whatever they may be drinking, etc.
  • [ ] Talk to someone I don't know just to talk. (I'm rather shy)
  • [ ] Go to Egypt and see the pyramids.
  • [ ] Participate in a mission/construction trip to help build school in a developing country.
  • [ ] Attend all of my High School Reunions.
  • [ ] Hold a party just to have a party and celebrate life.

So, Now what?!

I mean, that's not much of a list....

Yeah, it's pretty pathetic now. It will get better! I'm going to keep adding, revising, and checking off things.

I'd love any suggestions, contributions, or ideas (I guess those words were all synonymous.....)

Below I'm going to hopefully have some fun stuff.

LIKE:

+ when I check something off I'll write a bit about what happened, how it happened, etc.

+ when you guys think of something really cool for me to add, or just something that you want to do I'll keep a list of it, of course giving credit to you.

The Stories of the Accomplished

what happened?!

Here I'll tell about how I managed to check something off my list and a little about it.

nothing yet sadly.
