Introducing... my idol!
And for me that would have to be my mom.
But sorry, no pictures. She'd just kill me.
Things I admire about my idol
- She's warm, unselfish, and showers her family with love, all the time.
- She's incredibly hardworking. My mom grew up on a farm, picking corn, milking cows, and bailing hay. Even as she closes in on 60, she spends her days out chopping wood for my grandparents or wallpapering my nephew's nursery.
- She appreciates beautiful and simple things -- in particular flowers and the beach.
- Her capacity for empathy is astounding. As such, everyone who meets her immediately loves her. She teaches English to strangers and has spent years volunteering for Habitat for Humanity.
- She's just plain thoughtful. Remembers everyone's birthdays, is always ready with a frozen dinner when someone's in the hospital, you get the picture.
- She's creative. Landscape design is one of her strengths, but she's no slouch at photography, either.
