In the past weeks contests, Melinda Doolittle performed excellently. Her voice and her singing skill made the judges paised her as fantastic singer. Her singing of Diana Ross was impressive to both the audiance and the judges.

Randy complimented her on how she knew how to sing like the character would have in the song. Simon said the girl has outstanding vocal.

In the contest on April 3, 2007 with special guest Tony Bennett, Melinda sang I Got Rhythm. She received a standing ovation from the audience and critical acclaim from all three judges.

With these results and complimentary comments, Melinda Doolittle has the best chance of winning the contests in the end.

After graduated from Union High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Melinda Doolittle, who was born in Brentwood, Tennessee, studied music at Belmont University. Since college, her vocal instruction has been provided by Janet Kenyon. Doolittle sang back-up for Michael McDonald, Anointed, Mandisa, Aaron Neville, Jonny Lang, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Alabama (band) and CeCe Winans.

Melinda Doolittle actually looked her age tonight. I find that she often looks like a middle-aged soccer mom or something but tonight, with her Eva Longoria hair, she was great. Her song choice "Trouble is a Woman" was perfect and she made it work. For this, she ties with Phil for the best tonight.

Sanjaya and Britney fell victims to public wrath at a basketball game recently. They didn't anything wrong. Why were they met with loud, undeniable boos. Some people in the public are going too far.
