Save the Children is the leading independent organization creating lasting change in the lives of children in need in the U.S. and around the world.
FOX, AMERICAN IDOL and the Charity Projects Entertainment Fund have partnered on an historic TV event - IDOL GIVES BACK - a two-night special raising awareness and funds for organizations that provide relief programs to help children and young people in extreme poverty in the U.S. and Africa.
For every vote cast on April 24th, AMERICAN IDOL sponsors will donate money to the charity. Learn more.

Why I Think Save the Children RULES!
I've done much thinking about how I would save the world if I had a gajillion dollars. After meditating on it for awhile, I decided that helping women and children get the education and basic necessities they need would be my main cause. Then after thinking that, I needed to choose a charity. Cuz even though I don't have a gajillion dollars, if a gajillion people each gave a little, that's just as good!
I care about children from my country and all over the world, so I wanted to give to something that reflected this attitude. Save the Children turned out to be the perfect match. It's a U.S. based charity that has projects at home and in many other countries.
Whenever there is a crisis, they are on top of it - in aid of women and children. Tsunami? Save the Children is there. Earthquake? Save the Children is there. Any kinda catastrophe you could think of? Save the Children is THERE to help the kids in need!
That, folks, is why I think Save the Children RULES!
