Hello! I've been managing the crows.net website for about a dozen years and have recently published "The Language of Crows: The crows.net Book of the American Crow".There's a wide range of information about crows at www.crows.net and even more in the book. You can find info about it at www.crows.net/crowbook.html

Oh wow, that video is so amazing. I sure enjoyed my visit here and loved your letter. We used to have a friend who walked every morning and the crows would wait on him at a bridge and then go with him the rest of the way. Our friend always told us that he could communicate with these particular crows. We didn't know what to think but one day saw them together and decided that he was truly communicating with them. Amazing. I love this lens and can't believe that I haven't seen it until now. Blessed!

I saw this crow flapping around by moms house.. and for some reason i felt i needed to help it. it was the most unique crow, it had blue eyes.. like crystal blue eyes.. i cried for this bird.. i don't know why.. i brought it bread to feed it but it wouldn't eat it.. I know your not suppose to touch them bare handed.. So i found some huge ivy leaves and picked it up from the street... so I tried everything to get it to fly, it wouldn't . I think it broke its legs, cuz the wings were flapping.. I had to leave, LITERALLY 40 birds were swooping by me and kawing SOO LOUD.. so i fled.. I just want to know why i was so attracted to help it, what did it mean... If its unable to fly away, i hope it passes on peacefully.

My FIL found a wounded one in his backyard. It's wing was completely broken. He had him for about eight years. It's so easy for society to not appreciate crows and seagulls but they are beautiful birds, serve a purpose and deserve a chance like any animal.

Yes, the Crow is an amazing bird.

I went looking for them yesterday to take pictures of them and they were congregating around the city prison.

I think they were giving positive vibrations to the prisoners so that they can get their acts together!!

    Blessings to all!!!

Forgot to mention that I am from the Yukon, where the native tribes are all Wolf and Crow clans. The native bird of Yukon is Raven. Very smart and long lived birds. They are cocky and precocious. Ravens and Crows are related, and share many attributes. Ravens are extremely entertaining and have some lively mimicking skills. They use these, to trick dogs into leaving their food -then to be raided. Dogs get furious, and the fun begins!

Native connection - Crows must mate with Wolves and vice versa. It seems to be a familial thing, like a christian (can't remember the name of the law) thing about mating with no-one closer than a 2nd or 3rd cousin.

Anyway, in the Yukon, the raven is protected and are very entertaining ambassadors. They are very secretive about their mating and rearing of young, but I have a friend who has photoed a raven's nest. I hope he does that again this spring. Will be watching.

Wow - I've never seen anyone offer support to crows and they certainly deserve it - just like any of God's creatures. Great lens Kate!
