This is a guide about scale models

Here is everything about model kits

How to select model kits, brands,
How to build model kits, purchase supplies
Where to get great deals of model kits, supplies.

First of all, Gundam Series. All from Animation Gundam Series. The common scale is 1/144(HG/High Grade), 1/100(HG, MG/Master Grade), 1/60(PG/Perfect Grade). PGs own the finest detail as described in their name. MGs have general skeletons/frams and are considered the versatile kits. Except for single kit building, most modelers will choose MGs for diorama. 1/144 (HG series) are good for diorama as well, but their sizes eliminate the details shown. Bandai is the first and the most popular manufacturer in producing kits. But plastic model kits cannot create tiny details as panel, emitting pipes, etc. So PE/Photoeched metal supplies, GK/ Garage Kit(Resin Kit/UV kit) get their share in the market. Bandai also release the latest series "RG/Real Grade", in which PE parts are included. BTW, THE LENS PIC SHOWS THE PG GP01/Fb in my collection.

Military kits are my second choice: especially WWII ones. AFV/Armed Fighting Vehicles have their own fixed scale: 1/35, 1/48 or probably 1/72. Usually 1/35 series is the most favorite among modelers, because of its variety in range and the excellent representation to reality. Tamiya, Dragon, Trumpter are the three major manufacturers.

For aircrafts, my recommendation is Hasegawa. It is famous for its detail. If you wanna choose some kits as a beginning, Academy is a good alternative, but the decals attached in Academy are always terrible. The normal scale for aircraft model kits are 1/32, 1/48, 1/72.

Last let's take a glance at warships. Two major scales are 1/350, 1/700(water line). When choosing warships, it depends. Usually, tamiya is the default choices. However, Pitroad gives better detail but it offers limited sorts and the higher price will bounce you off. Nowadays Fujimi provides more details in wider ranges of topics as well as fair prices. Other brands like Hasegawa, Aoshima, Revell etc. One of My favorites, Bismarck, is from Revell.

Well, I hope can communicate w/ other scale model fans, esp. gundam fans :)
