Let's Eat Gourami Fish!
Recipe to get savory fried gourami fish!
I love eating fish, and so does my family. Especially when it's deep fried and crunchy, I can eat the whole part of the fish from its meat to its fins and tail. I even more like it when special seasonings are given to it before it's fried. These seasonings make the fish more savory and rich of taste. Well, apparently, after series of unfortunate events in frying fish, I've finally got the right mix of seasonings that make my fried fish taste delicious.

My Fish Fry Experience
I usually fail it when it comes to frying delicious, savory, and crunchy fish. Whenever I fry a fish, I always get soggy fish that is still raw at the inside yet the outside is burnt.
Finally, I asked my sister, vinafarah (she was also a Squidoo Lensmaster), about the seasoning to get a delicious fried fish. Because, every time she fried fish and I happened to stop by and tried, I always had delicious, savory, and dried fish.
I tried to make my own seasonings for a fried fish, based on my sister's guide. I used the seasonings to fry a gourami, that is a medium to big sized fish that is commonly bred in fishponds. In Indonesia, a gourami is known as an expensive fish because it is fleshy and tasty.

Fried Gourami Cooking
First of all, fillet a gourami fish then cut the meat crosswise into several meat rectangles. Then, rub the fish meats with lime juice and salt. Set aside in the refrigerator.
Spices
Create a subtle seasoning that consists of one segment of ginger, three cloves of garlic, and a small amount of turmeric in a small trunk. Blend and grind all the ingredients until it is completely smooth, then rub it on the fish that have been coated with the lime juice and salt.
Set aside the fish for about one hour until all the spices are absorbed.
Fry fish in hot oil until it is crisp and drain.
Bon appetit!

- Way too expensive to use as food. With most gourami purchases in the neighborhood of $4 to $10 US, I would much rather keep them in the aquarium than on the dinner table!
But other fried fish are excellent. Fun lens.
