Scala is a programming language created by Martin Odersky and his team at EPFL Zurich. It compiles down to JVM bytecodes (and interoperates well with Java), has a powerful type system, aided by compiler type inference and a non-verbose syntax. All adding up to a pleasurable programming experience.
