Scale model building is an ever popular hobby, and profession for some. We now have generations of hobbyists who build model airplanes, model cars, model ships, and scale models of all sorts of other objects. The most commonly known are the plastic model kits, secondly the ever popular wooden model ships. Scale modeling can be a hobby, with the focus being on building a kit or scratch building, or buying complete models as a collector.
