Hello, lens explorers! My name is Susan, and I love to read, write, paint, draw, collage, sew, journal, sing, listen, observe, reuse, transform, pretend, laugh, believe, travel, meditate, organize, classify, blog, cook, bake, nurture,  explore, and so much more.  I used to feel overwhelmed that I had so many interests, and I felt like I never got anything done, but now I know that I AM A SCANNER!  

I first read about the scanner personality in Barbara Sher's I Could Do Anything If I Only Knew What It Was. Although my interests are still a mile wide and an inch deep for the most part, I no longer feel guilty that I'm not a Diver (another personality discussed in the book).  Divers are specialists (think doctors and lawyers), and thank God there are such people, but the world has room for scanners, too.

Now Sher has devoted an entire book to scanners, Refuse to Choose, a wonderful guide to  help you discover what kind of scanner you are and how to use your innate scanner abilities to accomplish whatever it is you want to do. You don't know what you want to accomplish because you have too many interests? Read the book to find out what your real reward is and how you'll know when you've reached it.
