Haunted Stories

I have a haunting story for you. My son was not quite 2 when we rented an old farm house. One day he told me there was a man in the kitchen. We shared the basement with the neighbours so I thought he was just hearing his voice downstairs. He continued to tell me that there was a man in the kitchen and even told my friend who was visiting one day that there was a man in the potatoes. This went on for a couple of weeks, he was so persistent but didn't have the words to explain much. Then, a few weeks later, the neighbours were in the woods behind the house collecting firewood for the furnace when they found a dead body. Of course the police, coroner etc came - the man had wandered in the woods and had been dead for about 6 months. Once they took away his body, the man wasn't in the kitchen anymore.

Recently I had KPI from the Endless Mountains Region of Northeast Pennsylvania join my group Everything Spiritual which I am very excited about!

My family and I use to live in a home up North that was haunted by three women, a Nun, and an Elderly Lady and a younger woman. (Sounds like the triple goddess to me!) Anyway, in this house the strangest things would happen. It got to a point where no one wanted to come over and visit us anymore. My mother was sitting at the dining room table eating and I was outside playing. When I looked over at the back door my mother came storming out white as a ghost. I asked her what was wrong and she said she seen this lady in black walk across the hallway.

My step father told us one night at dinner that every night this lady in a yellow dress would come and stand next to him. My aunt (my stepfather's sister) came over to spend the night and she said she kept watching these ladies roaming in the hallway. Mother said some nights when she woke up there was someone standing there watching her sleep but then they would disappear. At first she thought it was me because I use to sleep walk-but when my stepfather seen the same thing, they knew it wasn't me.

As for me, I would sit in my room and listen to these noises that came from the attic. It sounded just like someone rolling across the floor. I would see shadows zip from room to room and could always smell something that I could not identify. So I decided to talk to the man who had lived in the house next door for many years. He told me that a Nun had a heart attack and died in the home; an elder woman fell down the stairs in her wheel chair and broke her neck and the oven exploded in the kitchen and a woman burned to death.

I am not sure how long we lived in the home, but I do know it was not for a long time.

I to love to watch scariest places on earth and I to have lived all over the U.S. ,and I have lived in three haunted houses, but the most scariest one I lived next door to in the backwoods of Alabama in a small area called Marcoot, Alabama.

The old man and woman that lived in the house died there about a year apart, and my brother and I were friends with their grandson. We would camp outside in the backyard in the summertime, and once we were trying to get in out of the rain at about 3 o'clock in the morning.

Since I was the smallest one of the bunch I had to crawl through the window, and as I was going in the window, a black mass rose up from the corner of the room! I was trying to back out the window and my big brother was trying to push me through. It scared me so bad that I ended up kicking back and breaking my brothers nose, and busting my head open on the window seal, and ever since that night I have always believed in ghosts, and always will.

I live in Kansas I have lived here all my life. Most people hear about ghostly encounters but I live them every day. I hear my name being called see shadows walk through the houses I live in. I hear walking in the house even when all the doors locked doors and windows opening, things moving by themselves and even seen something that looks like a gremlin which I took a pic of and believe me it looks strange if anyone would like to see the pic just let me know.

"A ghostly story for you:

I used to live in a house where we would see ghosts. They were seen at different times by my son, one of his friends and me.

My son was able to see the top of the stairs if his bedroom door was open and one night he woke up and saw three people on the stairs. He moved his bed to the other side of the room the next day!

Then another time a friend of my son was terrified in the middle of the night because he said he saw a ghost. I thought nothing of it until a couple of weeks later I woke up and saw a smiling head looking at me. Just a head. He had long hair, a moustache and a goatee beard. I instantly recognised the style as belonging to a "cavalier", which was the fashion during the reigns of King Charles I and King Charles II - which was during the 1600s.

The head smiled at me and then disappeared through the wall into the adjoining bedroom - which is the room my son's friend had been sleeping when he saw it. However, up until I mentioned it to my son, after I had seen it, I did not have a description from his friend. My son told me that what I had seen was exactly what his friend had seen.

Another time I woke up to the sound of horses galloping down the road at 2 in the morning.

We did some research and discovered that during a the English Civil War between the Roundheads of Oliver Cromwell and the Cavaliers who supported King Charles I, there had been a battle in our town. We also discovered that there was a mass grave nearby of victims from the Black Death, which ravaged the country in 1665." --AJ

House Spirits

I attract spirits to me, all of my houses have been haunted and after awhile living with active spirits feels normal. My daughters and son "see" our ghostly visitors as well so it is not just me.

The most haunted home I have ever lived in was in Muscoy, California. The house at 3135 Duffy Street was never a happy home, and our happy little family became very unhappy due to all the spirit activity. My four year old daughter Theresa was afraid to be in her room which happened to be the only room with its doorway leading into the hall. We chose this room for her because it was directly across from the bathroom. Theresa would wake up at night emphatically stating that her bed was shaking.

A few years later we had over night guests, the younger children were excited because they were to have a special treat. Theresa said they could spend the night in her room. That night, Theresa's bed began to shake worse than it usually did. Theresa woke up, and listening to the sound of her sister's snores, tried to find her way to the door by touching the walls. The room had changed and soon, she ended up by her bed again. Standing by her bed drowsy and puzzled Theresa turned towards the dresser. What she saw stopped her in her tracks! A tiny woman, about five inches tall stood on her dresser! At first Theresa couldn't understand what the little woman was trying to say, "Help. Help me." the young woman repeated, the words were not coming from her mouth-they seemed to be coming from her throat which seemed to have been cut. Jumping back in bed, covering her head with a blanket, Theresa screamed, until I ran into the room and turned on the light. "Mommy, her daddy cut her throat and there is not any blood on her clothes! She is really pretty, and all dressed up like she is going to a party. Her hair is long and brown and is swept up on top of her head. She says her daddy killed her! Theresa breathlessly and tearfully wails. I had a hard time calming her, and when she did finally go to sleep Theresa tossed and turned muttering in her sleep.

The next day, Theresa insisted her bedroom used to be the kitchen before the house was changed and we had knotty pine walls because the blood would not come off the walls, and if we lifted the carpet there would be blood stains on the floor.

When I spoke with the neighbors, I found out my daughter's "horrific nightmare" was much more than a bad dream, she had seen and heard a spirit. Ruby, our neighbor lived across the street for twenty years. Ruby shared with me what she knew about our home. The house had indeed been changed. Theresa's bedroom had originally been the kitchen and the murder of the young girl was a fact. The murderer was an abusive alcoholic. This man had custody of his teenaged daughter and two young sons. The young woman had made plans to go to her homecoming dance but when her father came home from the bar, he informed her she was not going. An argument ensued. The dad in an alcoholic rage beat the young 17 year old teenager and sliced her throat. This happened sometime in the 70's and we moved into the house a few years after the murder in 1978. By the way, when we had the carpet removed there was a brown stain on the floor. Who knows, maybe it was the blood of the young girl.

Moving into my childhood home at 25647 Pacific Street in San Bernardino, California with my children it didn't take very long for spirits to manifest. I clearly remember one day being in the house alone styling my hair in the front bathroom. From the corner of my eye I saw someone with long legs encased in jeans and a white tee shirt walk by the bathroom door. I remember calling out "Jim, is that you"? As soon as the words were it I realized it could not possibly be Jim, because my brother is short about 5'7" and this person was at least 6' tall. I went into the hall way and of course nothing was there. Shortly after this, my son saw a man follow me from the kitchen to the dining room and down the hall to the bedroom. Thinking this was a live person my son followed. You should have seen Levi looking for my "boyfriend" he even checked in the shower to see if he was hiding in there!

The house I rented on Bothwell Street in Colton, Califorina was the Grandmother of our landlord. Her name was Grace and I know she was there to protect her home and us as well. Her name was Grace.

Grace liked to help me cook by turning down the flame on the stove. Wondering if I had a stove problem I would turn up the flame once again and sure enough when I went back it was turned down again. After a roll of toilet paper flew from the window sill in the bathroom into the living room I realized my issue with the stove was from our spirit visitor and I asked her to leave the stove alone when she came to visit.

One evening as my 16 year old daughter Desi was watching TV; the lights began to turn off one by one as if someone were walking through the house. When she got up to turn the lights back on, the TV turned off, along with the light, Desi had just turned on. Taking the hint Desi decided it was time to go to bed.

Falling asleep one night Desi opened her eyes to see a black male shadow coming into her room. As Desi felt a cold numbing fear begin to surface, the door opened again and Desi saw the figure of a woman, whom she had never seen. This woman came to the head of the bed and soothed Desi back to sleep by brushing her hand over her hair, protecting, and reassuring her that she was safe. Grace knew that she Desi was vulnerable to the black spirit, so Grace kept the black spirit at the foot of the bed. This was the only time that Des saw either of these spirits. The next day, Desi saw a picture of a woman taken during World War II, sure enough it was the woman who came to Desi's rescue the night before. It was Graces indomitable spirit that protected her home and the people who lived in it.

When I was approximately 9 years old, my Girl Scout troop visited this museum. It was a house that kept all the same furniture, structure and appliances as it did in the 1800's. It didn't seem creepy to visit this place until I had been inside for 10 minutes or so. At that time, I was only just starting to realize I had abilities (or something simply "odd" about me) that others didn't seem to possess. I knew I had felt and seen ghosts and spirits before, but being so young, I didn't think too much of it.

It was the visit to this museum that changed things for me. I was lagging behind the group because being such a curious creature, I fixated on certain things I saw. I remember staring at the old stove, furniture and old décor. Each room we toured through was interesting but I couldn't help but feel someone behind me or beside me when there was no one in plain sight.

The room that stood out the most for me was the parlor room. As the group was exiting to visit! Another area of the house, of course, I lagged behind. At that point, I was becoming a bit dizzy and I recall the hair on the back of my neck and my arms standing up. I smelled a strong cigar odor but knew no one was smoking; especially because we were all females and most of us were 9 years old. I asked my best friend (who is still my best friend today) if she smelled it. She said no. Now I knew I wanted to leave. As I turned back to look at the room once more, I saw a man standing against the back wall in front of a family portrait. That was my cue. I was outa' there! I asked my troop leader if it was ok that I go outside and sit on the front steps until the tour was over. She agreed as long as I promised to stay on the steps.

A few years later when my mom realized I had some sort of ESP ability, she took me to the library to check out some books about the topic so I (we) could better understand it. When we came out of the library, Mom asked me if we could go across the street to that museum. I flat out refused and told her I'd never go back there.

To my knowledge, the museum has never reported any type of haunting or paranormal activity.
