well it really does...
perhaps one of the most devastating illnesses facing doctors today.
the added burden of dealing with stigma in everyday life can be as bad as the illness itself.
1 out of every 100 people born in the world, across all barriers of race, class, education, intelligence etc. will develop schizophrenia.
schizophrenia is not to be confused with multiple-personality disorder
or violence. 7 out of 100 people are violent. most are not mentally ill.
people who are treated early have the best chance.
there are 4 (last i heard) subdivisions of schizophrenia.
there is also schizoaffective disorder which combines elements of both schizophrenia-like symptoms and mania and depression from bi-polar. (previously known as manic-depression)
one of the gravest dangers for people falling through the cracks of the system
40% of schizophrenia sufferers attempt suicide. too many succeed.
i will now let the site speak for itself:
thank you for your time

with a special nod to scientology
well i'm not the biggest fan of Scientology
but some of their ideas make sense like how completely
inhumane things have been done to the mentally ill by psychiatrists.
what they seem to be leaving out is that things are very different now.
