Traditional Textbooks

One of the most obvious ways to homeschool is to pick out curriculum for the traditional school subjects, set up a school room with desks and a white board, set a class schedule and begin. This is probably what most non-homeschoolers imagine when they think of a typical homeschool day.

However, there are many homeschoolers who use traditional textbooks in a non-traditional way. They might mix and match curriculum from different companies or only use textbooks for some subjects. Others use DVD's or satellites to provide instruction for the students.

Complete Traditional Curriculum Providers

Many of the homeschool curriculum providers are Christian companies. This is partly due to Christian companies already having curriculum written for Christian schools.

Rod & Staff - Christian curriculum written from a Mennonite perspective.
Alpha Omega - Publishers of Christian curriculum including Switched on Schoolhouse and LIFEPACs.
Calvert - Classical curriculum written for Calvert School, a private school in Baltimore.
