Building A Home with Schumacher Homes

It's a joyous time in many people's lives. They are coming to a point where they can settle down and look towards the better things in life. Or, it could be your second time around, and this time you want to do it big! Either way, building a home is a big life change. It can literally mold your future and determine what type of lifestyle you lead. That being said, it's a big decision, and making sure it's an enjoyable one is key. There can be a lot of stress during this process, and knowing how to deal with that stress makes all the difference. This lens has information on the process of building a new home with Schumacher Homes, some tips to stay cool under the many issues that may arise, and of course information on how to make this experience a memorable one!

Take The Right Steps!

Know what moves you need to make and when...

As I mentioned before, building a new home is a process. Therefore, it should be approached like one. When you are planning such an event, you want to make sure everything is squared away before you make any moves. It's always good to have some vision during the planning, but don't forget to stay focused on the task at hand. It's very important to maintain on the small details, as they will build up to the completion of your ultimate goal.

Step One

The first step in building your new home with Schumacher Homes is to decide what you can afford. Once you have come up with a reasonable budget, add about ten percent to that figure. That extra ten percent will act as a buffer and help you manage any unforeseen issues that can and will arise. Also, do yourself a favor and create a realistic budget. Don't overextend yourself too much, or you will have nothing but headaches. If you can't afford exactly what you want, you may need to analyze what your priorities are and adjust accordingly. It's all about creating a balance. If you want to live in a nicer house, you may need to sacrifice having a nicer car or cut back on any vacation ideas. Worst case, you may not be quite ready, and you should put more time in for saving. You don't want to build a house and then realize you wanted more. So, in that respect, prioritize and set out goals for yourself.

Step Two

Now that you have come up with your budget, you want to apply it to your lifestyle, and factor in your needs/wants. This can include location, schools, jobs, family, friends, or whatever else you are looking to accomplish. You also want to factor in any of your other needs, such as space. If you have kids or are planning to have kids, you want to make sure you have the room to accommodates them now and for future reference. It's always good to overestimate when it comes to things like this. You should always pad yourself and provide a buffer. You never know what life will bring, the best you can do is prepare for it.

Step Three

Okay, so the first two steps are completed and you know exactly what you want and how much it's going to cost you. Not to mention you have accounted and planned for the unforeseen issues as well. Now you get to the fun part. Looking for a plot of land and selecting your home builder and design/floorplan. This is where it all comes together, and you can start to see the results of all your planning and hard work. It's a big step, but your that much closer to your new home, and that is motivation enough to keep you on track. You see your plot of land, and you can picture your house there. It's an exhilarating feeling. To make sure it stays that way, you want to select the right home builder. Choose wisely, as this will have the biggest effect on your overall experience and outcome. Over the years, I've dealt with many different builders, and I've found what I believe to be one of the best. Schumacher Homes has time and time again delivered on all fronts quality service and design. The people are very friendly, and that really puts your mind at ease when you know you have competent people working towards your goals. Their web-site is http://www.schumacherhomes.com, and I would highly recommend them when you are ready to plan and build your new home. Also, don't hesitate to ask them for advice, as they are very helpful during the home building process. That being said, I hope you took some good pointers out of this lens, and I wish you the best of luck in the planning of your new home and new life.
