The Science of Being Well? The Science of Being Well Review
The Science of Being Well Summary
This is a radical book...
It was radical when it was published in 1910, and it is radical today. When I first read The Science of Being Well, I
thought, OF COURSE! This is brilliant! Everyone should read this book! You may have a similar response to this book if you've read Mr. Wattles' first book, The Science of Getting Rich, or if you believe that both thought and behavior affect health.
At first glance, I believed I already practiced much of what Mr. Wattles teaches. But when I looked more closely I discovered there was a big difference between what I was actually doing and what I thought I was doing. Then there was another leap from what I thought I was doing to the approach Mr. Wattles describes.
Results in just one day!
When I began actually to practice what he teaches -even imperfectly - the results were immediate and dramatic. After just one day of consciously changing my eating habits to what Mr. Wattles recommends, I noticed an enormous improvement in how I felt. As I continued to practice, I continued to feel better. (And I was already feeling reasonably healthy before I read this book!)
I thought, if only I could get all my patients to
read and follow this book! Ninety percent of their
problems would be resolved!
Hello! I'm Dr. Alexandra Gayek, and I can hardly wait for you to read this book, too!
I've wrestled with every passage in the manuscript in preparation for passing this book along to you. I wanted to make sure I could stand 100 percent behind it as a guide to wellness. What I discovered in the process is a book that challenged much of what I believed and practiced as a doctor, pushed me way beyond my previous understanding of spiritual principles as they apply to health, and gave me a new depth of experiencing the role of thought and emotion in healing.
The thing is, I thought I already knew all this!
I've been a doctor of alternative medicine for
years. When it came to mind-body medicine, I was kind of a snob. There wasn't much I hadn't already figured out (I thought). I was open to things that confirmed my beliefs, and quickly turned my back on perspectives that challenged mine - "obviously" they were wrong!
Then along comes this book, written nearly a century ago by a guy who wasn't even a doctor, saying things that I discovered didn't quite match my way of thinking. But I stuck with it because of the results I got - and because I was just plain curious.
I've now read The Science of Being Well more times than I can count. And the more I study and practice what Mr. Wattles teaches, the more humble, happy, healthy, and grateful I become.
I've also read lots of newer books about healing, many with complementary perspectives to Wattles', but nothing else I've encountered brings the message home as clearly, simply, powerfully, and completely as this book does.
I hope you'll read it - not just once, but many, many times. You'll experience deeper insights each time. And be sure to take advantage of all the tools and resources available on this website that can help you profit fully from the riches hidden in this valuable book.
After all, you deserve the immeasurable benefit of good health!
Blessings for a healthy and abundant life!
And of course...Be Well!

Here's what people are saying about The Science of Being Well ...
"I read The Science of Being Well and found Wattles describing what I learned myself when I was very sick about 10 years ago. I realized I had to heal myself through health thoughts or I wouldn't make it. Out of urgency I learned what I now read in Wattles' book. It works".Rev. Bonnie Barnard
"I read this book at a time when I am healing from surgery, and I am grateful to have it received it. I find that it helps me keep a positive attitude about healing, and it supports me in making good conscious choices in my thinking and eating.
