My Favourite Sci-Fi Movies

Here are the science fiction movies which are in my personal top five (in no particular order).

I, Robot (Two-Disc All-Access Collector's Edition)

I was always a fan of Isaac Asimov, and even though it is not based on any particular story, this film manages to stay true to the themes and concepts that he wrote about.

The Chronicles of Riddick (Theatrical Widescreen Edition)

Based around the same character from 'Pitch Black', this film turns him into the 'good guy' who has to save the whole human race.

V for Vendetta (Two-Disc Special Edition)

Set in a future London, this film features a 'Guy Fawkes' character set on blowing up parliment and overthrowing the evil government.

The Fifth Element (Ultimate Edition)

Bruce Willis plays humble cab driver, who unwittingly finds himself having to save the Universe. The costumes, sountrack and camera work is simply stunning.

Reader Feedback

I'd love to hear which Sci-Fi movies you like - I'm always looking out for something new, as I seem to be constantly struggling to find good Science Fiction to watch.

I see that Eragon is on your list of movies to see. It is horrible beyond words. BEYOND WORDS.

How do I add Barbarella to your list? Killer Clowns from Outer Space is worth listing as it is classic B-movie sci-fi.

I'd also like to add Ghost in the Shell.

Enjoy your lens!

Nice lens! You've put together a great collection of sci-fi movies. When you get a chance, I'd love it if you'd drop by my science fiction lens and say hello.

Lenrolled to my Fifth Element lens, although I had to vote for Serenity too. I'm a bit disappointed to not see Blade Runner here, though. That one is definately in my top 10 of all time.

I still remember my first Sci Fi I worked on..
2001 A Space Odyssey Director Stanley Kubrik MGM Elstree
I'm on the film for one day doubling for one of the main actors.
All I had to do was walk across the Moon surface in a spacesuit.
It took me twelve hours (multi takes) but It was still a year away before the
American's did it for real in 69

Aitch,
