I've read a lot of anthologies and short stories over the years, but the only scifi short story collection I can remember re-reading was Alan Dean Foster's With Friends Like These." Of that one I've given away copies, and even told people sit down and read one of his short stories so we could talk about it.

Usually I like following an author, a theme, a well crafted universe, or chief characters through several books -- I don't want to give them up. Asimov's Foundation series is like that, even though it started with his entertaining I Robot pulp stories.
